Product story
Long time ago, I searched for a software for my first Forum and so I found SMF. The functions of this forum corresponded almost exactly what I needed. However, I missed something .. something like a CMS, but easier. So I found Tinyportal and I was very enthusiastic ... at the beginning.

Since myself had developed software for many years and also deal professionally with databases, it was not long until I started to change many things, to get more functionality. I pushed on Tinyportal, helped on many parts and started my first addon for SMF / Tinyportal .. mostly known as Felblog, but this mod was never approved by SMF and so I stopped the development.

As SMF released the first 2.0 version, I tried to adapt Tinyportal for this version. Unfortunately, Bloc (the author of TinyPortal) does not agree this, our paths separated and I started a new Portalsoftware (codename PEXT) with the criteria small, fast, modular, expandable and written with a modern semantic (PHP-OOP).

While I worked on the project, I found a partner they was really impressed on my ideas and so we searched for a name. The Portal Management Extension PortaMx was born and we set up the PortaMx corporation. On August 2008 we started with the first official release and on October 2008 the version 0.947 was approved by SMF.

In the short time in wich PortaMx is available, we recognize that we are on the right way. For the future, we have many ideas what we implements in PortaMx and we hope that this will be honored by the user.

Naw.. when I came here initially it was to look for help with a small issue with the program after I installed it.
I havent read all thru most things here.     You know we put things on our forums that are informational and many dont ever read them (laughs)

Ild make sure to use something that is easy to figure out so you dont lose registrants.
My registration has a field that asks:   "what color is an orange"     A bot is not going to expect that.
It'll stop spambots as they don't expect it... of course those that are "real" people registering its abit different but we cannot always catch them all.

Something that feels obvious to you, since its your forum, and your product, may well not to someone new who has just downloaded and installed the mod and needing help.

Just thoughts and trying to be helpful...  please take it as that  ;)

Hey there. Gotta problem with shout box. When I enable it, my site looks like what I have in the pic I attached. The font is biggger and everything is out of place. This is what my site looks like without it. http://online.bluesharkarcade.com/

What do you think?
Thanks.

Ok so I have a new installation of SMF 2.0 RC1.1 and I am emulating 2.0 RC1

Portamx installed with a single hitch(display.php i just modified manually.)

Then I install Pretty URLs for, you guessed it, nice looking URLs.

I was wondering if there is someway that I can make single pages come up by having it like:

http://www.site.com/pages/pagenamegoeshere

Is this possible? will I have to make a simple folder and a file or how would this work?

I apologize if this is not something to ask here, and if i should be asking someone with pretty urls knowledge.

Pretty URLS SMF mod page:
http://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=636

Pretty URLs Website:
http://code.google.com/p/prettyurls/

I can't show you my site since its on my http://localhost. and People are having trouble connecting to me eventhough i set port fowarding correct. Sorry about that.

Thank You!
