* Sorry to bump an aging topic but better here than a new topic with the same request.A download section is a must-have for my site. Not to be pushy as I know the realities of development time, testing, etc... and that a person also has a life beyond "The Code". However, the only thing keeping SMF 2.0 locked up in my test environment is a suitable download section... and I am anxious to replace my aging SMF 1.1.x system. My current site uses the SMF 1.1.x version with Tiny Portal... which has the done the job and has a usable (if heavily modified) download section included. But I can get no time commitment from them as to when Tiny Portal will be updated for use with SMF 2.0... so that sounds like its months away at best.I just installed the latest version of PMX (for Curve themes) in my SMF 2.0 test environment. This was my first use of PMX and I must say that I am very impressed with it. Seamless integration, no install issues... and configuration appeared to be fairly simple. Just need that download section... * From my perspective... which may be limited I admit... there are only two viable options/competitors for SMF Portals that are designed specifically for SMF. I'm not talking about full-blown CMF systems. I'm referring to simple portal system with some CMF functionality that can be integrated directly into SMF as a mod. The type of portal that will appeal to a broad market of SMF administrators for its ease of installation & integrated configuration. In other words... PMX & Tiny Portal.Currently, PMX has an advantage in that it is now SMF 2.0 compatible. That is huge... because SMF 2.0 is all the rave. But Tiny Portal has an edge in the "extras" department with the download section, gallery, etc..I suspect that the lion-share of the SMF market is going to go to whichever portal system has the critical extras and full SMF 2.0 compatibility first. The race, Ladies & Gentlemen... seems to be on!
