« on: 18.01.10, 19:04:01 »
The PortaMx corp. developed a modification for SimpleSEF v1.0.2 and PortaMx v0.971-2.
You find this mod (SSEF_PMX_patch.zip) on Download -> Addons for PortaMx.

After a little bit caching with SlammedDime, I have a patched SimpleSEF 1.0.2 running here.
I have add two small fixes for SSEF and add a hook for PortaMx to handle the page requests.
see also: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=352351.msg2462844#msg2462844

I hope that SlammedDime is willing to add the pmx hook  ???

On the three PortaMx files we have also made smaller changes (PortaMx.php, user_login.php, theme_select.php), so we now have a stable code for SSEF.

More comming soon.

Hi Fel,

Why doesnt the URLs include the post subject as it is in other SEO packages ?

and added to that do you plan to build a sitemap for both portal and SEF ? or is there any way to do that ?

On the SimpleSEF (what we use here) is a settings to make "short" url or url with the topic subject.
Because we are not sure, that this works correctly on url they have german chars like öüäß, we have disabled that.

And a sidemap for a Portal? For what? Mostly static urls ..
For the forum is a sidemap mod exists that works with SimpleSEF (same mod author).

Thanks Fel, I didnt know there was such an option in SEF.

You know I am using  re-written SEO4SMF for RC2 but I will consider trying SEF.

I must  install SEF and than your patch in download section , right ?

By the way we have ö & ü in Turkish and my site is also UTF-8. I will let you know if any problem occurs when SEF is installed

Yes, but that is a temporary fixing. As I wrote in the news, we will develope a update for PortaMx / PmxBlog that work with a original SimpleSEF (runs here).

I tried to urge SlammedDime to release his new version:

http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=352351.msg2515809#msg2515809

Danke.
Gruss, Stefan.

*lol* ... I don't wait for other mod authors. The bug's in SSEF 1.0.2 are known and I have fixes for that (as you see here)

Why not ditch SimpleSEF adapting and add SEF URLs into PortaMX as a feature? I think this would be a great feature for the portal.

Fel

Yes, I see the problem coming, that he will only release it after you release the new version and
he did not use your fixes, so it will not fully work with your new PortaMX version.

So it would be really better if you would use your own
SEF functions and integrate it directly into PortaMX, then we don´t need
to wait for other MOD authors to get their work done...
Many thanks in advance.

Regards, Stefan.

Yes, exactly ! This would really help a lot !

Then the PortaMX Portal would be even MORE outstanding against the other portal softwares !
