The space above/bottom of the blocks you can't remove, because this is a 10px high grafik from the template.
And the space above the forum is the linktree araea, this is also not removable (the high is given be the template css)
That all have nothing to do with portamx ...

ofcourse .. you can make your own style for each block.
Look (try) the samples in the folder /Themes/default/PortaMx/BlockCss/

As I say .. that have nothing to do with PortaMx ...
To hide the linktree on the front page, you must modify the index.temlate.php of your theme.
Follow code is a example and I give this without any warranty ..
Code: [Select]
if((!empty($_REQUEST['action']) || !empty($_REQUEST['topic']) || !empty($_REQUEST['board']))
theme_linktree();
This will hide the linktree on the frontpage ...

I found the function theme_linktree() in only one place in index.template.php and I just replaced it with the code you have quoted. But I getting "Template Parse Error!"  :'(

Can you make it more elaborate how to achieve ? :)

Try this ...
Code: [Select]
if(!empty($_REQUEST['action']) || !empty($_REQUEST['topic']) || !empty($_REQUEST['board']))
theme_linktree();
on yours is a open parenthesis to many at the start ...
