404 error when accesing articles

hello,

i use SMF 2.0.1, upgraded to PortaMX 1.5 and i'm trying to use the articles system.
when i try to access one of the articles (.../index.php?cat=XXXX;art=XXXX#topcat1) from the sidebar in category view(.../index.php?cat=XXXX#topcat1), i get a 404 error with the following message:

You don't have permission to access /index.php on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

there are no restrictions set in 'Access settings' for both articles and categories.

any ideas? it looks like i'm missing something..

check:
1. if the url correct
2. you have other mods installed
3. you have a path /cat on your system

The error you have, is not a portamx problem I think.
It's a normal request, they handled by the portal. If the category not exists, the request ends in a defined error message (see attached image).
Which mods you have installed?

i made a replica of the site on a free account and the side menu is working there, so it is a sever related issue.
any ideas what i should ask the hosting service company?

nevermind. problem solved. it was a server issue.
