XBar doesn't seem to be working
« on: 03.01.09, 20:30:26 »
I have a quick question.  On the front page of this site, you have a left panel and a right panel.  When I move the mouse to either edge, I get that bar sliding out, but the cursor changes into a small horizontal line with an arrow on each end, and clicking doesn't seem to hide the panel like it should.  I'm using FF 3.  Am I doing something wrong?  I noticed this same thing on somebody else's site using SMF 2.04 beta and PortaMx as well, but I just thought maybe they had something set wrong.

Edit:  OK, I guess it works OK after all.  I had been using FF for quite awhile and it must have become overloaded.  I closed it out, and then opened it back up and it seems to be working OK now.  Sorry about that.

I appreciate the response but it's happening again.  I went to check on somebody else's site which still works fine, and came back here and now it doesn't work again.  This is weird.  I suppose this could be a quirk in FF3.

Very strange.  After posting, I went back to the front page, tried it again and it's not working.  Went back into this topic and tried it and it's working.  It's like every other time I go to a page on this site it works, and the other times it doesn't.  Weird.

Edit:  Hmmm, if I go to a page, whether it's the front page or a topic, if it's not working, when I hit F5 to refresh the page, it works.  Strange.

OK, well, it's just a quirk then, I guess.  When I came to this topic just now to read your post, I tried to hide the left panel and it didn't work.  After I refreshed the page once it worked.  FF 3.0.5 is what I use as well.  I guess there's just something strange with my setup.

thanks, Anyway,
ZP

No, never really heard of it until now.  Interesting that it came out before Firefox and some of the other new browsers but it's not as well known as a lot of browsers.  Must be a good reason for that.  Obviously, I want the users of my forums to have the best web experience possible, but I can't see why I'd want to worry about how my sites look in K-Meleon, when there aren't that many people using the browser.  I'd much prefer to concentrate on FF, IE, Opera, Safari, and perhaps even the new Chrome Browser.  The upcoming Opera 10.0 looks interesting.

I may download K-Melleon and give it a shot, but I prefer to stick with the better known ones for now but thanks for the heads up.

I think, that is a problem with the javascrip loading (btw re-loading), but I have not notice that on any browser.
I test alway with FF2, FF3, Opera, Safari, Chrome, K-Meleon and IE7 ...
