it would be much better,
if Feline woud program her own Simple SEF directly into PortaMX,
cause the Simple SEF programmer SlammedDime has no time to update it
and he is too busy with other things...

As I say often .. that is'n possible and not the best way.
And I have no problems with SEF .. works fine here, also with other mods like the Project Tracker and SimpleDesk  :)
It's often a problem by mod's they not use the SMF style urls. So you have to note that SEF is primary programmed for SMF.

Exactly, for example SMFBlog has its own kind of URL, as does this auto indexer i've used in the past. Due to the way mod_rewrite works, and SMF's openness to modders "creating" new actions that is something like index.php?putyouractionhere=, it is impossible for anyone to predict what new .htaccess info will need to be added, and therefore it's impossible to create a SEF that will work for every mod out of the box.

Technically, the only possible solution would be for the SMF developers to create a new action called something like customaction that takes 2 parameters, one with the name of the custom action that the modder would create and the second the actual value for the custom action, that way a SEF could be created that could filter every all these custom actions in a specific way.

However, getting back to the point I was going to make... Just learn how to use the .htaccess file... use google... google is your best friend... took me less than 15 minutes to learn how to fix my .htaccess to fit all my SMF needs that PrettyUrls couldn't fix.
