So did you just drop the code for the shoutbox into a php block?
Using Internet Explorer 6 on the internet is like urinating in a public swimming pool.
It's rude, there's no excuse for it, and anyone who does it should be ashamed of themselves.

yes sure simply and easy:
Code Select
   // YSHOUT HERE - shoutbox code
   global $txt,$context,$boarddir;
   if(allowedTo('yshout_view'))
   {
      echo '<div id="yshout">';
      include_once($boarddir.'/yshout/yshout.php');
      echo '</div>';
   }
   elseif($context['user']['is_guest'])
      echo $txt['yshout_no_guests'];
   // YSHOUT END - shoutbox code

Hi, can you give step by step instructions to install the advanced shoutbox NNeoneo's to a block using the ds-natural theme on my board?  thanks for any and all help!  (when i put the php code in my block it just loops my whole site in the box over and over (it will show my site, insides my site, inside my site etc.. all within the block)

If you already have the mod on your forum that may be what's causing the looping. It may be necessary to remove it from the forum templates themselves and just run the code in your php block.

Anyway the best person to ask about this is the person who made the mod. It's a mod question that will apply to any portal that uses php blocks. Ask the mod author first.

But there is, I even asked for help with the creater of the shoutbox and he said that the problem was from the portal and I should contact you.  :-\
Here is the link of that conversation: http://www.simplemachines.org/community/index.php?topic=137508.4400

The problem is that on my last server the shoutbox worked great but with this new one it doesn't. I moved the database and the files so it should be fine but it isn't  :-\

If it'll be any help, I can attach Subs.php

Thanks for all the help  :D

The shoutbox is'n approved for SMF 2.0 beta 4, that's the first point.
Second .. as I see the mod add a include at the top of the index.php that ends with a exit.
PortaMx is included later in the index.php, so no initcode of PortaMx is executed.

You find the shoutbox code at the top of index.php ..
Code Select
if(isset($_GET['yshout']))
{
$yshout_from_index=true;
include_once('yshout/yshout.php');
exit;
}

You can make a test .. but without any warranty of a correct function of PortaMx ..
Add before the exit:
Code Select

require_once('Sources/PortaMx/PortaMx.php');
if(!defined('PortaMx'))
PortaMx();

I can't install the shoutbox, because I becomes errors on the packedmanager.
